1. Light Bolt Shooters mounted 2 per base per 2.511. Do they count double
the point cost? AND do they count double the shooting strength, since it
is twice the crew?
2. Also, are LBS's in fact models? AND therefore not able to shoot over a
rank in front similar to chariots?

<<> 1. Light Bolt Shooters mounted 2 per base per 2.511. Do they

No. They are not 'mounted double', the player has the option of
representing LBS artillery with two models or one due to their size.
As all artillery shoots whatever crew is on the base, this is PURELY
an aesthetic choice.
<< AND do they count double the shooting strength, since it
> is twice the crew?>>
Two models is NOT double the crew.
2.511 clearly states:
"*This represents the number of models. The number of drivers or
crew figures will be specified in the army list. "
I am not aware of any Warrior list with a four crew light bolt
shooter.
<<> 2. Also, are LBS's in fact models? AND therefore not able to

Correct.
I am NOT going to get into this with those players who
apparently 'double mounted' LBS in 7th. I know some folks allowed it
although I cannot find it in my 7th rulebook, but even that is
irrelevant. You can't make a Warrior LBS into a bombard using
2.511. Sorry.

No sorry required, although there appears to be enough confusion in
this region (and San Antonio) that it was never even questioned as
being allowed. We read 2.511 a little differently than you intended
(we got too fast and loose with the crew statement).

OOOOOH!:^) NOW you can have just as much arty, but not so compact and hence no
longer so powerful as their fire can more easily be disipated. My Spanish smile

Hey, Chris, don't get too smug. I'll take Romans against Spanish any day, even
without machinegun LBS.
Just ask Scott Holder.....

Blah blah blah, I still fire 360 degrees, and have a general joined
directing the fire. Your Spanish dogs are still toast!

Yes, but now the ever feared Artillery has a scale missing on its underside.
And not being able to shoot two ranks deep doesn't help much.
Trust me, there are a lot of Mongols smiling! and Talk throughout the camp

The revelent passage, 7th, Aug 1992
1) p9, 5th para: Element strengths
Light bolt shooter 1 or 2
Other Art. 1
2) p29, last para: Shooting Arcs.
"A single bolt-shooter on a cart can shoot all round"
A single LBS can shoot all round, 2 on a cart must shoot stright ahead.

That is an irrelevant passage. Warrior also lets you base two LBS MODELS on a
base if you want. And Warrior LBS on carts also shoot all around.
Neither of those things in 7th OR Warrior lets you base double CREW on an LBS
base.

Jon,
I think you went out of your way to make this section confusing.
If you want to down grade LBS from 7th and only allow 1 LBS model and
crew per base, I would recommend that it be on the same line as "Other
Artillery" ( or just "Artillery" ), with the statement that "additional
models can be added to the base to give a better ascetic look, but with
no additional effect." or some such.
Having 2 lines that mean exactly the same thing is confusing and leads
one to think something else is meant.
Personally, I think the option in 7th for having the choice of more
firepower and only shoot straight ahead or less firepower and able to
shoot 360d was a nice touch. Loosen the formation for flexibility, or
tighten the formation for more effect.

>OH No, I agree with that, and actually Don has not been using his "arch of the
coventant" artillery base as of late and has still been victorious. My Spanish
are actually part of my much beloved Polybians, but they are the usual
recipients of the daunted grand battery la Don.
