V1.0 incorporates all corrections and comments from review to date
and replaces all prior versions. Unless there are substantive
errors that would affect play, I don't expect to revise it for a
while.
The terrain table has not changed since the last version.
Substantive changes:
Charger wheels to pursue Evaders corrected.
Immediate nature of waver tests for routers emphasized in the HTH
box, the box below PURSUIT, and the Waver test box.
Broken Recovery line (COHESION table) corrected to refer to CO/LO
FT.
Impetuous variable move ADD under Probe corrected to refer only to
Charge and Pursuit.
Enjoy.

If so, I missed it - please re-ask.

This looks great to me. One question though concerning obstacles and
minor water features in particular. I've been trying to figure out
how minor features effect movement, so I'm hoping that this might
explain it all for me.
If I read the terrain effects chart correctly, it says that foot can
only cross obstacles in column (or after charging defenders), and
that mounted can't cross obstacles at all. Is this true? I thought
only their tactical and march moves were reduced (I don't remember to
what distance)? It also says that close foot and mtd are disordered
by obstacles - but how could mtd get disordered if they can't cross
one in the first place? In other words, can mounted only cross a
river/minor water feature at a ford or bridge?
I got to thinking about this with the discussions about river
selection to reduce frontage, and then started to try and figure out
how movement over a river works. I don't think it is very clearly
described in the rules. Now, reading your chart, I'm unfortunately
even more confused.

It is true only of fortifications, not of obstacles in general.
Mike, does this mean the terrain chart needs fixing?
Jon

Yes, he made a good catch. Sorry about the editing error. That
part of that line should refer to fortifications, but is extraneous
in the obstacles line anyway as I added a field fortifications line
is already at the bottom. I will replace the text under Obstacles
with a reference to the fortifications line below.
It sounds like there may be a river question for Jon. Let me know
if it affects the terrain page. Folks, please let me know if there
are any other comments.
NOTE: I took the Terrain page out of the pdf file and reposted just
the file with just the reference sheet portion (as 1.0a).
If there are any other comments on the terrain sheet please let me
know--I'll revise and post the terrain page separately.
Thanks,
Mike
