It looks like chariots are somewhat unwieldy to use like LC on the
flanks; especially in 25mm where the relative width of the table is
smaller.

So are they very effective in shooting things up & evading away? Do
you ever want to charge into HH with them?

Some of the FW armies have units of 3 chariots, others of 2. Any
differences in how they ought to be used? Three in a skirmish column
shoot better, but are they a lot easier to kill when fighting HH in
line, since the enemy would probably be fighting one unit of 3
instead of two units of 2 on its frontage?

Having experimented with LCh in a recent H-Con theme (Gauls), I found a
two-element LCh unit very useful to charge (one element wide, two deep)
non-missile armed loose order foot (especially regulars). Most targets will
have to take an uneasy waver. A Gallic foot unit would be in position to
clean up on the next bound should the target fail its waver. Most
non-missile armed targets cannot inflict the 3x required to break a
two-element LCh unit (It would have to roll up 2 as I recall; that said my
opponent did just that on one occasion).
