Gents,
I am all for it. As I said in a earlier post I am a firm advocate of
Napoleon's Corporal. I use an Excel spreadsheet and still make a lot of errors
in reading the list or imputing the numbers. Thank you, Bill Low for
reviewing my list for CW and identifying the errors.

In Canada, when playing W40K, all good tournaments request (but most do
not require) lists a couple of weeks in advance. All lists have DO have
to be submitted an hour before a tourny starts, and have to be okayed.
This makes the last hour fairly hard. Our local guru (Cole, also on
this list) now offers a VP or two for players getting their lists in in
advance. This is an excellent solution.
As a 40K list checker, I'll note that every tournament has nice, honest
people who have made serious errors on their lists. In other words,
it's not cheating, it just happens. There are, sadly, also people who
try to cheat, including using software like Army Builder and altering it.
List checkers simply can't play; they know too much, whatever the
system. But by the same token, they are doing a public service. No one
is harmed, and everyone is aided, by an eye on the lists that is
impartial and knowledgeable.

Greetings Chris,
List checkers are important in a complex system and I agree that they
shouldnt play, but in a major event like CW or HC you could have 2
checkers and they could play in the evnet they arent checking.
In Clan War we would play 2000 pts but we could submit a list in
advance that was 2050pts, that edge was a good incentive to get your
list in advance.
