Been awhile since anyone posted one of these, so I
though I would post the list I am working on for the
next year or so in both scales.
Fortuantely, Falcon makes some generic MesoAmericans
that fit the bill in 15's. 25's are going to be
harder, but I'll figure something out.
Araucanians
New World Warrior List 8
Later Period
CinC 2E HC Irr B Jls, B, Sh @ 160
Triabl Ally General 1E Irr B LMI, JLS, B, Sh; 5E Irr C
LMI JLS, B, Sh @ 150
2 x 4E Warriors Irr A MI 1/2 HTW, S, Sh; 1/2 JLS, S,
Sh @ 121 points each
3 x 6E Warriors Irr C MI LTS, B, Sh @ 121 Each
8E Runners Irr C LI B, Sh @ 73
Cavalry 2E Irr B HC JLS, Sh @ 79
6E Tribal Veterans Irr B Jls, B, Sh @ 115
6E Tribal Warrior Irr C LMI1/2 HTW, B, Sh; 1/2 JLS, B,
Sh @ 87 points
2 x 8E Tribal Warriors Irr C LI JLS, S, Sh @ 89 each
2 x 6E Tribal Warriors Irr C LI JLS, B, Sh @ 73 Each
Totals:
1593 points
15 bodies
22 Scouting points
Theres More LI in this list than I am used to running,
although I do like the weapons combinations and the
numbers available.
I have yet to play this list (or its 1200 point
version) as I am in the midst of painting some 15's up
for it (Its a persoanl thing, you gotta have something
on the table that belongs to the List before
proxying...), but I am interested in seeing other
peoples reactions to it.

I love it and I am ready to see you bring it to the table.
You need to become a master of LI and a master at splitting fire. If the other
guy can chase back your LI and split fire on your foot, you're dead,...
Otherwise you'll be doing some very nasty things to people...

Summing to: 2 commands. 3 line MI units, 2 attack MI units. 3 line
LMI units. 5 big LI units. 2 small, mediocre cav units.
The LI are good (I'd delete the runners if legal); the only downside
is the lack of mounted to support them when they're hit by enemy
mounted, but the missile power may alleviate that.
The MI are fine. The LTS guys have lots of things that they lose to,
but usually slowly, and they are great against mounted and elephants.
The IrrA guys are going to have trouble finding targets, and are
very vulnerable to enemy shock mounted, but again the missiles help
and there is enough support shooting to be viable.
The LMI are the better target for enemy knights/SHC/chariots etc.
Especially if they get tangled into the LI, of which you will need to
be very wary. But they will be fine in terrain, even excellent.
Your basic line frontage is only 19E - or less than 4 feet in 25mm.
That's small. It's all irregular fooot, so takes rapid fatigues in
HTH; you may have problems against other close foot armies, especially
if regular. My guess is that a Late Roman is going to salivate.
Overall, I'm impressed by the amount of missile fire that you can
deliver from units which can also fight, but worried about the size,
the lack of counters to some troop types, the reliance on irregular
foot with what seems to be almost non-existent reserves (can you not
get a couple of 2E IrrA LMI HTW units or some such?) and some other
stuff. On my NICT list scale, I'd give it a 6, probably.

Truth be told, this is an interesting list that I am
wading through.
The base troop in the list is the Irr C Warrior.
It can be MI or LMI, and starts out as B armed.
You can give them LTS ot JLS.
Or HTW.
Or 2HCW.
You can replace the B with S.
You can Upgrade 1/2 your C armed troops to B's, and 8E
of those B's to A's.
In the later period you can even make them Regular
(which is another list version I am working on).
Runner are a required Unit.
The problem I am running into is the same one you
points out...it doesn't cover a lot of ground.
However, Given that I'd probably only have one or two
Light units in front of the main body as a screen
(Most Likely the Runners), that gives me 4 other
pretty good LI units to use as a delaying force.
I suspect this list will see soem tranformation in the
year(s) to come.
A Roman List would be interesting to play against.
