Hellenistic Greek list (#37) provides that up to 1/2 of each type of
thureophoroi/hoplite/pikeman may be upgraded to heavy. I assume this means
1/2 the total number of figures as to each type, i.e., one may upgrade
entire units or only some ranks within units as long as the maximum 1/2 is
not exceeded for any trrop type, right? Thus, each of my hoplite units can
be front rank HI, back rank MI, and each of my thureophoroi units can be
1/2 LHI, 1/2 LMI.

Second, are any troops denominated thureophoroi eligible for this armor
upgrade? I'm thinking here of thureophoroi whose names have adjectives,
like *Mercenary Thureophoroi* and *Cretan Mercenary Thureophoroi*. These
would appear to be thureophoroi, correct? Or not?

Thanks.

On Knights of St. John (HW#24) are you allowed to mix general's
elements with Serving Brethren Knights?

Thanks ... g

Principles for mixing generals in HW are covered by errata posted on
the website, which provide as follows:

"Generals' elements may be in a mixed unit with troops of the same
Training (Warrior 2.1) and Order (Warrior 2.21), and in addition
Knights, Cavalry, and Camelry can only be mixed with troops in the same
Troop Category (Warrior 2.23) …."

Since Serving Brethren Knights meet these criteria, then generals'
elements can mix with them. Thanks.

Much obliged Bill ...

I was looking the wrong area, and just couldn't find it. I'm sure the
former had an impact on the latter. ;-)

Again ... thank you kindly.
