Greetings;

Scott, this should probably be your's. In the Marian Roman list, it
gives the option of fielding (Line 1 0-8 Asiatic Horse Archers Irr
C LC B 0-8(with no asterisk). However, (Line 40) it again gives
you the option of taking Asiatic Horse Archers Irr C LC B *2-8,
which obviously necessitates an Asiatic ally cavalry and
slingers/archers. Can you give me some guidance on this? Thanks in
advance.

BTW, enjoyed seeing the games and meeting some of the guys from
Texas. Looked like a good time.

One is part of an ally contingent (I think, list ain't in front of me), the
other is not.

The longer version of Scott's answer, Dave, is that the 0-8 without asterisk can
be taken without the ally general and without incurring any of the * minimums.
