Warrior Ancient and Medieval Rules

Can someone advise whether charging close order foot armed with LTS,
JLS fight with 2 ranks, and count the +1 jls addition for the full 2
ranks.

My argument is that the eligibility to fight is based on the LTS,
which will allow the 2 ranks to count. The JLS +1 addition is a
factor addition based on the weapon used, after eligibility has been
determined.

Others believe that the 2 ranks count with LTS, however the +1 JLS
addition only counts for 1/2 the back rank, as this is all that would
count if JLS were the only weapon.

This appears to be a recognised problem which is yet to be settled.

Since you asked for "someone", I believe I can answer
this! You count the full two ranks of LTS and 1 and a
1/2 of the JLS. This is how it has been for quite some
time now in Warrior as far as I can tell you.

You may want to ask the others where in the rules does it say that the front
rank CAN'T fight with the JLS. It doesn't. The only thing close is 2.32 -
JLS can't be used by the same element also fighting with P, L, or 2HCT.

The rest of the rules support Kelly's response below.

I am currently working on a JLS chart for the rules that shows when you get
it and when you don't.

At first contact (if charging or counter charging) count 1.5 ranks
LTS + JLS (if bonus applies) and .5 ranks LTS only. On second
bounds, count 1.5 ranks LTS and no JLS applies UNLESS your target is
elephants. If elephants are the opponent, count 1.5 ranks LTS + JLS
every bound after the first.

If standing to receive, 1.5 ranks LTS + JLS if JLS bonus applies.

You only get the + for those figs that count JLS (i.e. half) even if the full
second rank of LTS is counted.

Note that close LTS foot charging or countercharging foot fight two full ranks.

Has this changed?  9.22  states a second rank of  foot using LTS  fights at full effect if close.. otherwise at 1/2 effect.

Both Kelly and Jon said the same thing. 2 full ranks of LTS and 1.5
rank of JLS. It just works out to be calculated as 1.5 ranks LTS +JLS
and .5 Rank LTS.
