This is not true. March moves do not have to be toward the enemy.

Jon,

Under march moves, a march must be toward the enemy. Does this not
stop the tactic of marching units from one flank of the table to the
other? ie parallel to the enemy rather than toward.

It is conceivable that the marching unit can march multiple segments
before turning toward the enemy, thereby acting contrary to the
stipulation of having to get closer to the enemy. Likewise, the
practice of setting cav facing the sides of the board and making
their first march move parallel to the edge rather than toward the
enemy baseline would also contravene the march stipulation of
approaching the enemy.

This would most obviously not happen if the command was on Rush but
what about "normal" orders?

Cheers
