Mark just read part one of your article in Spearpoint. Two things
came to mind:
First, once again your perspective will be most beneficial in helping
people understand a key aspect of this game. While the relationship
to chess might not help those who are not familiar with chess on a
deep level, the relationship you discuss between standard army
templates and terrain is vital for the novice's understanding of how
these things relate in a larger tactical picture.
Second, with such articles (and the review of Armati II) I am once
again reminded of how enjoyable it is to receive a *print* newsletter
periodically covering topics near and dear to my heart. I know the
current trend is to create a true web-based resourse, but receiving
something worth reading in the mail (not a bill) is always a
pleaure. I hope we can find a way to make it continue.
I applaud your efforts Mark, and I encourage everyone else to write
an article. One article a year, about something you know, would
revitalize this newsletter. thank you.

Boyd,
Those are gracious words, and much appreciated. I have at least two more
articles planned, one historical in nature and one tactical in nature. I too
encourage others to contribute. Showing that we have an active and interesting
community on all fronts is a big part of recruiting the new players to keep our
game thriving.
