Got a bunch of Ral Partha 25mm Hoplites which I'd like to get
painted. Probably use decals to make the front rank shields pop, but
I'd like to minimize the time spent.

Any tips for mass painting them?

I live in Maryland. Now that Bob Ehrlich is Governer, we can expect a
reversal in the heroin addiction, syphilis, violent crime, and
political corruption spawned by the last 30+ years of liberal
Democrat autocracy.

I did the Old Glory Hoplites, and they were by far the most tedious figures I
have painted, due to the large amount of modelling and number of painting
steps on each figure. My advise is only to chip away at 8 or so at a time,
as I was unable to find a way to really speed up the process.

(Not sure if you have to drill the hand, clip the spears, paint the shield
seperately and all that, I thought the RP figures were one-peice with spears
included. If they are, then you are home free).

usually are. I mean if you're a "great" painter, then yeah, they'll take
forever. If you're not into shading and such, then I'd just paint one color for
each item, then dip em. Combine colors for some items (belts, sheathes, etc)
might speed things up a tad bit. Not having to shade, highlight, black line,
etc., if you dip does help the mental process as well:):)

curias is linen, boom, that can be white. The little hanging thingies that
dangle below the curias (am forgetting it's name at the moment, sigh) can also
be white. The tunic can be white. By dipping the figures, you won't have to
worry about all that white running together since the dividing lines between
figure features will be filled in by the polyurathane. If you start by spray
painting the figures white, then possibly going over them with a brush and flat
white, now you're looking at fewer steps and having the bulk of the base coat
done.
