Komemnan Byzantines: I believe Ed Kollmer stated he had a hard copy of
Paul G's Komemnan Byzantine list. Paul doesn't have a copy anymore (or
at least is having trouble finding one). I *really* need a copy of this
from which to start the Komemnans so if somebody has one, could you
contact me off-list and we can arrange a way to either mail or fax me a
copy.
Sales Outlets: "We" are being carried by On Military Matters, a military
history and gaming bookstore run in NJ. I've bought stuff from them for
years and knew Jake was going to sell rules thru them but I just
received my flyer from them and lo and behold, there "we" are. Of
course if you buy direct from us, we actually see more of the money.
Camps: This is not a rules issue, more of an "umpires intent" issue. I
want to reiterate what's in 2.22 in terms of camp size (since this is
related to Tr element size). If you have something that's larger, don't
sweat it. I'm having a field day creating camps for all my 25mm stuff
and I think 2 of my camps conform to Tr element sizes. The reason is
that I often find stuff that makes either a perfect camp building in and
of itself, or just doesn't fit well onto 4 Tr elements. Two examples of
this. I found this ceramic, already painted church, very european in
character and perhaps 6 Tr elements total in size. Perfect "camp" for
my Burgundian Ordonnance army. Then I found another building used for
aquariums, I'd say it's probably 5 Tr elements in size (placed end to
end to form a retangle). Absolutely perfect camp building for my Khmer.
It looks exactly like many of the Angkor complex buildings.
More on camps: I think I bought these thru Jake but somebody makes
these cool little palm trees with a heavy metal base the size of a
quarter and plastic trees that you don't need to paint. Technically
they're 15mm but they work quite well in 25mm. Thus far I've used them
for my generic Chinese camp and as a dash of desert greenery alongside
my fallen obelisk that I use for my Late Hebrew camp. You can also just
glue them together and paint the base so that you have some free
standing trees to use as "woods" should you be playing some south asian
elephant trash list. I also bought some plinth stones thru Jake (man,
this is coming across as a plug, oh well) and mounted them on one of
these flattop little hills we all have. Then using some Irregular
figures, I created some generic druid character sacrificing an animal on
an altar (the animal is not one of Irregular's best, I'll grant you.
The joke here is that it looks like and oversized scotty dog). I'm
using this camp for the Galatians which I'll be using in the 25mm Mini
at Cold Wars. Now I just need to get something for the Aztecs, some
little stepped pyramid would be nice and then the obligatory "human
sacrifce" and priest figures and I'll be set.
Finally on camps: Read the looting rules (14.44) ("Loot? There's
nothing here to loot! No booze, no broads, no action!"). The items in
there are "new" but only because nothing ever existed in writing
beforehand. I usta rule looting differently but was probably more
lenient than normal (body only had to spend one bound, ie 15 minutes,
looting the camp). The "roll a counter to stop looting" rule really
reflects what accounts I've read of camp looting.

A propos of the human sacrifice, just remember the "no figures allowed that
bring discredit on the hobby" line that used to appear in tourney format
sheets.

Yo!!! Scott, Here I am(raising my hand frantically from the back
row). I do have a copy of Paul's Comnenan List.It might even be typed
by himself.
Seriously, where do you want me to send it. I sent KellyW a copy also.
