If you have a strong historical interest in this specific army, and/or are
looking at it for some kind of theme event, then I think it's a decent enough
army. If you are just looking for a solid knight army to play, there are better
choices.
Here's what's good about the Navarese:
(1) You can an assortment of knights from HK to SHK, meaning the knights can be
bought in a very points-efficient manner.
(2) You get a mix of regulars and irregulars, striking a nice balance between
punch and maneuver.
(3) You get some shock foot (Brigans) and some shooting foot (Longbowmen) and
some support/follow-up foot (Longbowmen as LHI w/2HCW).
(4) The Navarese spearmen aren't terrible as rough terrain troops. Heck,
somebody played Illyrians in the NICT with not bad results, and that's
essentially an entire army of these guys.
(5) You have a minimally acceptable amount of LI, some with S/SS and some with
JLS,Sh.
Here's what's problematic:
(1) No light cavalry.
(2) No shielded light infantry shooters.
(3) The Navarese spearmen are not as good as the "Moogs" that show up on many
other lists.
(4) The Brigans are hard to get going impetuously because they're Irr C and they
show up here on an army that lacks a sacred standard.
Either Medieval Spanish or 100 Years' War English does everything this list
does, only a little bit better: the Spanish with better skirmishers and better
shock foot, and the English with more longbowmen and more choices about how to
configure them, as well as highly point-optimized knights (SHK L,Sh in the
front, HK L in the back).
If you really want to exploit the interplay between the Brigans and the knights,
then either Feudal French or Medieval French would be better, since you can get
the sacred standard needed to get the Brigans going impetously.
