Welcome, Brad.
The constant changes in DBM rules is a large part of what sent many of us to
Warrior. You should have to do very little rebasing, if at all. Maybe
something like a couple Bw will turn out needing to be on close order bases or
something like that depending on the list. Minor though, if any.

Hi
I played 6th Edition a little bit, then 7th some. When all the
changes to the lists were taking place I stopped playing. I was
hesitant to learn dbm but eventually I joined in on that.
However with the new DBMM rules coming out next year I have decided
to try out some warrior. Joined the list to learn about the rules,
meet people ect. I am online now and plan to order the rules in a
few minutes. Hopefully I can use my existing troops as based but if
I need to make a cut here or there for different formations no
problem.
My current armies include
Early Byzantines
Late Imperial Roman ( serperate army not a morph of the byzantines )
Palmyrans
On the way I have Ayyubids ( being painted by an outside source )
On my paint table I am painting tupi, NKE, and Free Company all at
the same time slowly but surely :)
All of my armies are 15mm at the moment but I have always wanted to
do Carthaginian or polybian roman in 25mm.
Look forward to learning about the rules and giving them a go.
Brad

Hi Brad!
As an intro, Brad is a very active participant on the DBM list and
is undoubtedly the most enthusiastic person when it comes to this
hobby of ours.
Brad, the guys on this list will help you come to grips with
Warrior, and will endeavor to answer any and all questions you might
have.

Maybe something like a couple Bw will turn out needing to be on close order
bases or something like that depending on the list. Minor though, if any.
>Brad: Welcome aboard. A couple of things. The rules are complex, don't let
that scare you. Once you get the basic mechanics down, you can play games and
discover the many nuances on the fly. With that in mind, look at the Fast
Warrior lists in the back. They'll let you get started almost immediately.
More importantly, they'll let you learn the game without getting overwhelmed
with trying to control and manage a slew of units. I've felt over the years
that the Warrior gaming mechanical system itself isn't all that complex but what
possible "scares people off" is the complex dimensions of running (well) an army
of 12-16 units against an opponent doing the same. With Fast Warrior, you've
got half that, plus the geometric issues lessen with fewer units.
>Basing shouldn't be an issue as Jon mentioned, with some minor exceptions. Bow
(Bw) will probably be the worst but in many instances, we've tried to take that
into account as well in terms of how we classify troop types. It didn't occur
so much in Biblical Warrior but generally speaking, in later army list books,
any MI B troop type almost always (but not universal so the rest of you, please
don't bombard me with questions about why not in some cases) has an LMI
counterpart, which enables you to duplicate the Bw classification in the
abstract game's basing.
