Appologies in advance if any of these questions seem absurd.
I like the Norman Conquest - I think that'll be a good period for me to start
out in: Welsh(145) vs. Anglo-Norman(196) sounds like fun ( I like the looks of
the Norman Conquest Welsh(145) list ), plus there's plenty of info concerning
that period so it'll give me something to sink my teeth into. But anyhow, I
then started wondering how I could recreate the Battle of Hastings, and which
lists I would use for Norman vs. English confrontations before 1066 - and I've
become pretty confused.
Anglo-Norman is what stemmed from the Norman Conquest of England, but which
Norman list should be used on and/or before 1066 at the Battle of Hastings vs.
the English/Anglo-Saxons?
And which list would I use for the "English/Anglo-Saxon side" agains the Norman
invaders?
Norman/Western Frank vs. Anglo-Danish?? What about the Bretons, would they
contribute to the Norman list at Hastings?
I guess what I'm looking for is "Norman vs. Anglo-Saxon pre-1066 Battle of
Hastings"...
Am I even making any sense? <grin>
Also - I was about to buy the official Warrior list for this period, and then
became further confused as to why "Norman Conquest Welsh" are in Dark Ages,
while Anglo-Norman are in Feudal? Just curious.
Thanks,
Corey

>Some lists just "last longer" than others. Also, for 20 years, historians have
*generally* broken things up into convienient periods, 1066 usually being one
point. That's somewhat arbitrary like most things. But, the gradual upgrading
of cav to what we call HK and above began to occur around, stress around, 1100.
That's more of a good break point for us than anything else, hence that's why
Anglo-Norman were put in Feudal.
