I would like to get a gang together in Northern Virginia somewhere
for a warm-up for the Historicon Roman Empire theme.

I will be moving back to the East coast Memorial Day weekend latest
(more likely the weekend before).

Historicon is 22-25 July this year.

There's about something like 7 weekends between there we could do
this thing.

I am planning on 25's for me, although I also have a 15mm theme army
to use (which could also be available at Hcon if someone can put up
with running my Patricians). The idea would be to let everyone in the
region who wishes run their army, in scale, they'd like to use at
Historicon. So I think it would be best if we can find enough people
in both scales to do both, say 8 players 4 in each scale to make a
round-robin. Fewer players in either scale would mean fewer games,
but hopefully we could find at least half the above number which
would give us one game in each scale. If we can get more showing up
in either scale we just convert over to a typical Swiss pairing
system.

Out of the NoVa Warrior crowd is there any interest in getting a
bunch together to play, even if we distribute over locations and/or
weekends (though it would be nice to get the whole busy bunch
together at once for a change), somewhere from 1-3 practice games at
1600 points using theme armies to warm up for Lancaster?

I would be happy to be the stuckee for drawing pairings out of a
virtual hat, reserving the space we would need, etcetera. It would be
best to have someone else actually be ump if needed - but you all
know the rules very well if I recall so maybe we could skate or
resolve unknowns by die rolls.

How about it? Come on...

I'm just looking for a squeak of interest at the moment so I know it
is worthwhile pursuing and trying to figure out arrangements over the
next several weeks.

But if any of you are interested let's start trying to figure out a
day and location, though I would suggest either of the Game Parlors
or Little Wars as all having the kind of table space (GPs with more
if we get that number of people).

By the way, of course anyone not going to play in the Hcon theme, or
for some reason not wanting to play their army for that tournament
here, would still be encouraged to play here with something that
could serve as a foil for others to sharpen up on.

So for example even if you have a somewhat similar army to an army
that is in the theme but no actual theme army, I would think everyone
would be happy to have you join in anyway.

But probably we should try to hold back on the Teutonic knights and
Hundred Years War armies for this one unless that is really all
you've got! You get the idea.

And could Tim G or ET or someone with the whole incredible list of
area players at their disposal (I do not have it on my machine here)
try to reach those who are not on the Warror list or would not be
getting this request for statements of interest?
