I am more that willing to play the rules as written.  There will be updates over the years and the issue of rule changes can be addressed again then.
 
What I would like explained is your reasoning on why regulars were handicapped against irregulars in use of formations. Requiring equal ranks of elements for reg and not for irr is a handicap on the table. Warrior is more restrictive than 7th on this issue as 7th allowed some exceptions.  Why did you feel that 7th was too permissive and tighten the rule further?  History behind the rule is what I am after.
