Martin, et al.
1HCW is currently in EVERY list book that contains troops that use it - which
right now is ONLY New World Warrior and Feudal Warrior. From the next
printing on, 1HCW will be in the main rules.
As for Romans 'use' of 1HCW, nothing has been formally decided but I can tell
you this:
1. Roman point cost will not change.
2. 1HCW 'use' by Romans replicates, as does much in our rules, both the
weapon and the training/formation that employed it. A heavy slashing sword in
the
hands of a peasant is not, in and of itself, 1HCW.
3. Romans will be 'better' and more 'Roman-like' than they have been to date
using this game engine.
More I will not say as we are in playtest and, while I personally think we
are very close to knowing how the Marian - Severan Romans will come out list
rule wise, it is premature to say anything to our gaming public.
I would advise against asking 'does anyone know about this?' concerning a
rule/troop/game/list in playtest as our playtesters are sworn to secrecy and
therefore anything said by anyone not in FHE is pure speculation and may lead to
rumor requiring unnecessary damage control.
As far as the list book publication schedule on the web page, we will get
that dropped - we do not as yet have a full time webmaster, something I mean to
fix so as to get our website up to where it is a dynamic place for weekly or
biweekly updated information as not so static as it is now. Be patient.
We have not been on that production schedule for over a year. IW is headed
for Cold Wars as it has been for some time and we are well able to meet that
deadline.
1HCW will be in use by some Roman lists under certain conditions. It will
help make them fight more realistically than they do. All the lists that can
use 1HCW presently have the 1HCW rule right at the beginning of their list book
- if a list book does not have 1HCW at the front, no list in that book can use
it.
Hope this helps.
Jon

It's also 1.5 ranks against most opponents.

That Other Game. You know - WRG 7th...lol

Dare we say, "Romanesque"?
Really, good news about the Romans. I think 1HCW is a nice improvement
over "other" for Romans that have no pila, even if it's just a +1 more
here and there. I'm looking forward to seeing the lists--so I'll just
be patient.

I'd like an answer to that myself. That Other Game?
The Old Game? Typically Obvious Gaps? Thunderous Oral Grievances?
