Warrior loyalists....
Ok, the rules are done. Don't ask me about when you can get
yours,
although we are on track for Fall In, I make no promises until I know
more about the printing process. There won't be any more drafts -
the next thing that happens, when it happenes, will be the
publication of the actual book with play aids and all 275 Fast
Warrior lists.
Calling all players: We have no cover or FHE logo. The person who
had offered to do this has not come through. We can't pay you,
but
we will give full credit in the rule book to whoever might want to
provide us with the graphics for the cover and FHE logo.
FHE Logo: Small (half-dollar sized when printed) silhouette of four
mounted soldiers (one biblical, one classical, one dark age, one
medieval).
Warrior cover: larger image (centered on 8.5x11 page leaving margins)
of four foot Warriors from each of the four periods listed above.
NOT silhouette. You may use up to four colors.
Now, let's talk about the future.
1. I'm taking a break.
2. While I am taking a break, I'd like you guys to vote on what
the
next Warrior rules supplement should be. Please email THE GROUP (not
me) with your preference. We'll eventually do them all, but the
group membership ought to have a major say in what order they come in.
Choices:
Fleet Warrior (both ancient/medieval naval warfare and sea-land
interface)
Siege Warrior
Campaign Warrior
Fantasy Warrior
__________ Warrior
3. I'll be creating some new folders/files after my break is
over:
The ones made by us that only we can manipulate will have FHE in
their name.
a. Clarifications (FHE). The rules will not be perfect when they
are published; I know that more than anyone. No set ever is, and
this has more moving pieces than most. There will be a single
document in the egroup file section labeled Official Warrior
Clarifications (date). I will be the only one updating it. I will
announce to the group using the moderator's special announcement
feature when I update it. The rules plus that document will
constitute the official rules. This document will contain ONLY
clarifications and no `new rules'.
b. Play aids (FHE). I will continue to place play aids and example
diagrams in this file. If you guys want to upload stuff for me to
look at, cool, but don't place it in this file, upload it
separately
to the Proposed Play aids (Open) folder. I will review the aid for
accuracy and then place it in this file adding FHE approved to your
name on the file.
c. X- rules (Open). ANYONE can upload an experimental rule (x-rule)
to this folder once I create it. X rules can be used by anyone in
any game if all the players agree to it. I'd like you to also
place
feedback on how particular X-rules work in this file. I'll put some
example x-rules in it so people can see what it is I am talking about
and the general format.
d. Optional Rules (FHE). This is a folder that ONLY I will place
files in. Optional rules will be fully playtested x-rules that we
feel should get the official stamp of approval. However, optional
rules will still require both player's agreement or tourney
director
approval to be used.
e. Proposed Lists (Open). Self-explanatory. There will be an FHE
Lists Folder for when we approve them or make new ones of our own.
f. There will also be a playtest folder for whatever rules
supplement we choose to work on next.
See you after my break.
Jon

Jon,
It appears that the majority view is the fantasy warrior. I applaud you're
opting to let the group vote on it. I would rather see anything else, naval,
siege or campaign first, but will bow to the masses, as if I had any choice
(heeeee), should fantasy win the majority vote.

Actually we are WAY down the road on playtesting Fantasy Warrior. If it does
turn out that way, it won't be too much of a 'bump' in the road.
