PointCon Results

The continuing theme of this year's tourney was Dogs of War. I had imposed
certain restrictions on the types of morale class and the amount taken. 40% of
the troops had to be D or E class. However, I made allowances for folks who
chose not to or could not field such an army. With lists in hand, players
gathered at historic West Point to do battle across the tables. We muddled
through the 7th-Warrior transition, occasionally scratching our heads, and for
the most part got through all the rules questions without anyone getting hurt.
If I made any blunders, guys, I did my best to be completely fair to everyone.
Special recognition goes out to the following: Bill Low for simply attending
when he had made other plans later that day in Boston; Jevon Garrett and Sean
Scott for their long road trip - Jevon showed up despite having a bad back and a
new 22 yr old girlfriend. Coincidence? Ewan McNay for coming out of the
closet...and gaming again. Ed Bernard for continuing to smile even as he was
pounded into the dirt each and every game - to his defense his entire strategy
was based upon a 3 foot depth instead of the 4 foot I changed at the last
second. Or so he says...Finally, all the other usual suspects who make the
effort every single year to support the local tournament, with the exception of
Todd Kaiser & crew, who had some silly baseball game to attend. Then again,
since Todd showed up to last year's Dog tournament with Seleucid, complete with
the max number of I/A chariots , perhaps his absence was better for all. *wink *
Lastly, I have a recovered jean jacket that was left to die. The results are
below:

Ewan McNay - Papal Italian ( with German mercenary subgenerals )
Sean Scott - Communal Italian (list added without aid of calculator )
Dave Boor - Futile French - umm Feudal French
Dave Mark-O' vitz - Korean
Jevon Garrett - Sicilian
Chris Schulitz - E. Burgundians
Kevin Santos - Ming Chinese ( soon to become my afterwork gaming opponent)
Matt Kollmer - Japs
Ed Kollmer - El Cid's Boyz (can't spell andi - something something )
Ed Bernard - Jewish Revolt ( probably against having to face so many knights
with JLS)
Bill Low - Hannibal's lads ( speeling - not my forte)
Tim Brown - Patrician Roman - what else - Romans.

My apologies for misspelled names and the like...

Tim Brown

Howdy,

Thanks. Did anyone record what armies were used by the players?
