Thanks to Jacob and Dennis for organising the annual Warrior event; we had
the misfortune to coincide with Easter this year, which took many of the
usual players away on family duty, but still managed a good tournament
(and a very fun day for all, as far as I can tell).

Special credit to Jevon Garrett, for bringing in a new player; and even
more credit to Asif, the new recruit, for a truly *excellent* grasp of
rules (he actually reads them - gasp!) and tactics.

The day was set up as a team event, with four players per team in
different periods. We had three teams, but one late dropout (*ahem* Ed
*ahem) left us with 11 folks, so one bye each round. The first two rounds
paired within period, or close to it - sorry to the Bosporan who ended up
facing Mongols! - and then a third round on swiss score, with team members
not playing one another. Giving 3 points for the bye, final team scores
were:

Jacob, Asif, Jevon and Peter: 16
Phil, Jim, Mark and "Ed": 38
Fred, Dennis, Ewan and Dave: 46 and the championship Smile.

Individual scores:
Ewan 15
Dave 14
Dennis 13 (two 5 point wins and a bye!)
Phil 11
Jim / Mark 9
Jacob / Peter 5
Fred 4
Asif/Jevon 3

Given that Dennis only failed to get a chance at 15 by being given a bye,
I suspect that this qualifies him for the NICT.
