It seemed like everytime they had a new print run with DBM, there was a new
version of the rules. This frustrated me, as I got to play it so seldom,
but the guys on the DBM list were very sanguine about it.
Mow, I know you don't have a print run of 500,000, but you will have to do
new print runs as you sell out. Will you be incorporating the errata as
revisions? I hate marking up my rules with "delete MUST. Insert CANNOT."
Errata only available on line is a bit unfair to some who are not wired in.
I am just curious how you plan to handle this, as the FHE policy is adamant
about no 1.1 or 2.0 versions of the Warrior rules.

If and when we do a new printing, we will incorporate everything from the
clarification sheet plus fix typos. We will also, if we can afford it, put it
in a more useable and durable format.
We won't, however, be including any rules *changes*.

I was just wondering the other day if it would be possible to buy a set of the
rules loose leaf that I could then put in plastic sleeves or laminate and store
in a 3-ring binder.
If not, I'll just wait to buy a new copy when my current one wears out.
My copy is already starting tear a bit along the spiral binding.

That type of binding was prohibitively expensive. We'll have to see if a second
printing ever comes around. How much money FHE has at any given point is kinda
up to you players...lol
I have separated mine and put all the pages in a binder in document protectors.

There is a paper stock called "Kentucky Shine" that is not very expensive and
has a aqueous shine quality that mimics lamination, varnish or expensive coated
stocks. It is even available in cover stocks for digital output, so you could
also use it for the army list covers. It is extreemly durable. Most paperback
books these days are using this cover stock in place of expensive buffed cover
stock with lamination.
There is a process called "School Spiral" that adds a 1/2" clear plastic strip
to the edge of the page where the spiral bind goes, such that the holes are
punched through this plastic strip. South Texas Bindery, in San Antonio, charges
eleven cents a sheet to do this. I'm sure you can find a similar vendor in your
area. Wire-O bindery would also help quite a bit at very little additional
charge.

Who's doing the printing? I used to work at a print shop and for a
run of 1000 books you'd be looking at about $.06 per sheet (about
$3.66 per book on 3-hole punch) - if you're selling at $16 per book
that's still a great profit :)
The benefit of 3HP is that for the cost of a SASE you could send
updated pages or else release updated pages on the web.
Just some food for thought...

Guys
We printed Warrior the way we could afford to print Warrior. We have plenty of
copies to sell, so it will be some time before we print it again.
If you'd like to help, you can do two things:
1. Get people to buy the remaining copies.
2. IF and WHEN we get ready to do a second printing, we will ask for advice on
printing styles and costs.
At the rate we will sell Warrior, a niche game, that will be years from now.
Unless something changes, like we really get on recruiting people, which is the
one thing we all need most.
And Jake is the Print Ho - not I.
