This is not really a rules question, but more of a question to see if
people have done this before and what sort of experiences they may have
had.

I am considering running a game at a convention loosely based on the
battle of Lake Peipus (Alexander Nevsky versus those pesky Germans and
others). The scale of the battle is such that, at the very least, I
would like to halve the troop to figure representation. Now, in the
rules, it says that if one does this then one should use the next
larger scale measurement system. This would mean running my 15mm battle
using 25mm measuring sticks (if I understand correctly).

This actually seems like a good idea, but I was wondering if anyone had
ever done this before.

I have done this. It "felt" weird, but being a hard core TOG, that was
expected. It gave the illusion that the game was running faster.

This also happened in Rev 6, of which the original scale was 20 paces to the
inch, and the figures were effectively on 30 mm stands. Later, the stand
width was raised to 40 mm, and the ground scale raised 30%, 20p to 1.32 inches.
While there was grumbling about rebasing, the new scale was accepted by about
85% of my peer group in short order.
Phil

First, remember that the troop scale is a *nominal* 1:50. It is actually a
range of 35-85.

That is a method we recommend in the rules as one simple way to get the same
effect.

I have not using Warrior, but I did using 7th several times and in this case
the games are identical. Worked just fine, and as i think Phil pointed out
- played much faster. Great for an historical scenario being used as a demo.
