Say what? This is a regular unit, so the rear rank has to have the
same number of elements as the front, at the end of the maneuver(s).

Regular troops can do 2 "contract" maneuvers in one bound; each
reducing frontage by 1 or 2 elements. This seems to indicate a
maximum of 4 elements change in frontage, leaving one with 6 in the
front rank and 4 in the rear. Not a legal formation for Regular
troops.
