The only other set of rules where I have seen an attempt to simulate
the line relief system is Piquet Archon. Here the system allows one
manple/ cohort to replace the one in front once it is beaten and the
swap occurs during combat resolution. So one unit will be falling
back or routing when its friend passes through to carry on the fight.
This feels a little less unlikely than "scarey Fast Warrior line
relief" as the exchange is not happening whilst engaged with the
enemy. (Presumably a fired up enemy that feels it has the bad guys on
the run!)

p.s. Please everyone tick the WRAP MESSGE TEXT box (just below the
enquiry about what language you want your post in. Otherwise you may
as well pick chinese as only the most dedicated will scroll fifteen
feet right to read your entire one line message! Sad
