response to charge by pursuers & counter-charges:

Non-impetuous HC in pursuit, and in contact with, LI at the end of the initial
route move. LMI declares a frontal charge on the HC, to replace the routing LI
in contact. The HC get a charge response. The HC can only choose to stand or to
test to counter-charge foot. The HC choose to test and counter-charge.

this is the point I am not sure what happens on the table.

Does the HC counter-charge through the routing LI, or do the LI make another
route move first and then the charges take place?

The assumption here is that a counter-charge does not automaticly cancel the
LMI's charge and force a test on the LMI.

Or is a counter charge treated as normal charge and the LMI must test for being
charged?

Ed

No, only a declared charge cancels charges.
