This is (for now) a Fast Warrior question. The list rule for Marian
Romans says that the legionairies can replace HI in HTH contact that
have been halted or pushed back by opposing foot in the previous
bound. How does this apply to elephants with LI on the base?

In other words, if my legionairies were pushed back by elephants last
bound, where the elephants have LI mounted on the base, is my second
line legionairy unit eligible to replace these guys in combat or not?

I can see arguments both ways: the elephants still cause LI and LMI
charged in the open to waver test, like mounted; the elephants move
and take casualties like foot. So in this case, which is it?

LI on a base make Ch and El like foot for ONLY two purposes: irr foot fatigue in
hth and approach precedence and for no other purposes.

Yes.

Okay... which is it these seem to be mutually exclusive answers?
(and before you get a bit excitable, I LIKE Warrior, I'm not nit-
picking. This may be a stupid question but it isn't a hostile
one Smile )

I got it wrong initially. Hey, it does happen. Good catch, Adam.

Just those two purposes only. Otherwise they are mounted.
