Just finished a second game of FW and starting to get the hang of it and got it
done in 3 hours; playing against another DBM gamer but with similar TOG
experience to me. I was on the receiving end of LI recall moves that drove a
unit off the board but that is a rule I really like, you can't leave LI parked
indefinitely in front of steady infantry especially if they are JLS equipped
unless you are good at wavers. The only good bit, I lost again, was a Galatian
warband chewing up a Thracian/Macedonian pike block.
A couple of queries:
1. When two units conform in a charge and elements not in range are held back,
what status are those elements when joining in next bound? Do they count charge
bonuses, HTW at contact etc or are they treated as subsequent rounds factors?
2. If a unit is charged from the rear what can it do? I suspect evade if Lights
or previously evaded but otherwise stand at halt as you are an idiot for getting
in that situation?
3. When a general joins or is part of a unit for recovery from shaken what
constitutes a complete bound? Is it the next bound in its entirety or for
instance if joined in the approach phase is it recovered at the end of next
bounds approach phase?
Thanks and off to fight another.
Paul

Subsequent bounds.

It has all the charge responses a unit charged from the front has. Except it
cannot countercharge to its rear.

End of the phase it joined last bound. If it joined in approach, then end of
approach.

This might be more clearly spelled out in the next set of clarifications. We
have been playing end of the following bound, not one full bounds same phase
away as this states. Just wonder how many others may have had it wrong too.

We can add this to the next clarification update, but if we add everything that
gets asked, instead of only adding things that are not written as we want them
in the rulebook, the clarifications will get too long.

How about just the FAQ? Kurt?
