I had the great pleasure of umpiring the California Warrior Championships this
weekend at the 2004 Ancient and Medieval Conference in San Ramon, California.

It was a superb event, particularly as it is the first such. Manny Granillo and
his crew took great care of us and there is no question this is an event that is
here to stay with a very bright future. Many thanks to Manny, Charlie, Mike and
the lads for all their support.

Thanks also to my good friend and fellow Horseman Bill Low for his work with the
15mm tourney and the event wrap-up.

We had 14 players in two scales. As WAB had 14 and DBM 12, we continue to show
growth even in areas traditionally not thought of as Warrior country. This has
a great deal to do with both new players and old TOG folks giving us a try. We
had many, many positive comments from the players and observers.

25mm California Warrior Championships

1st Place - Mark Stone (Later Palaeologan Byzantines)
2d Place - Frank Gilson (Knights of St. John)
3d Place - Len Herman (Hsiung Nu)

Paul Giffen (Italian Condotta)
Rich Gagliasso (Early Imperial Roman)
Ed Forbes (Ottoman Turks)

15mm California Warrior Championships

1st Place - Devin Low, Inca
2nd Place - Aidan Low, Iberian Spanish
3rd Place - Dylan Lawrence, Pre-Feudal Scots

Henry Amado - Celtiberian
Chris Edgar - Iberian Spanish
Bill Low - Toltec - Tepanec Version
Fred Steckel - Marian Roman
Dan Woyke - Neo-Assyrian

Thanks to Henry for switching scales at the last minute to give us an even
number in both!

Scott, if you would handle ensuring these results get in Spearpoint and the
winners added to the NICT qualifiers.

Jon

>I will. If you don't see your name up there in the next week or three, don't
panic. I have the info and will get it online when I can grab a spare moment.
