Morning Everyone,

I would like for us to come up with a series of Themes for the
upcoming Tourneys. In October we have the Mid-Evil theme for KC. In
Dec in San Antonio if it comes about, March or April in Ok City, what
should it be? It seems we are now having a good number of Tourneys I
feel we can help each other by knowing what to build or bring in
advance of any and all tourneys we would want to attend. I believe
themes for Fast Warrior is the way to go. Armies are small and
managable in regard to purchase and building. Large Warrior games
might still be best to bring what you have.

Your thoughts and views will be greatly appreicated on this issue.

FWIW, what we've stumbled onto this year is that we run an open FW tourney in
the spring. I had a BLAST at the last one because I saw an amazing spread of
armies. I went from fighting Huns (or something along those lines) to Spartans.
In the fall, we're doing a thematic tourney which also has its charms. I'm
sorta hoping we stick with this concept (open on tourney, thematic next, back to
open, etc) for a while to see how it works.

Jack,

We are planning a tournament for December 6-7 in San Antonio, TX. The theme
is still being worked-we are leaning towards a "Scandinavian" theme. We
should have the information finalized and posted this weekend. We are also
looking at three tournaments in the first half of next year. The dates have
not been ironed out. I will post the information when available.

AARGH!

This sounds like a real smack in the face type of event. I can't make it
though. Aside from the fact that this is Army-Navy which I must watch (despite
how bad each is of recent) But I am also taking the lsat that day, so have no
chance of making it.

It's too bad you can't make it!

The winner gets a mug of rancid beer, a raw fish, two hours in a hot
tub with the 6'7" Scandinavian blonde of his choice, a hat with
horns, and a certificate for a free sex change operation.

Go Navy!!!! g

Harlan,

I have one other concern and that is that we don't have tournament
games schedule on Friday night. I know your group does not do this
but it has happen in other regions of the country and this is a great
disservice to those who have to travel a long distance like Kelly and
I. Sometimes this happens when time is short and too many games are
included for the weekend. So, shouldn't be a problem with just our
Warrior Tournaments.

My views,

Morning Scott,

Don't disagree with open tourneys for they are a lot of fun. My
concern is that we are seeing the theme Tourney more and more and if
this is the way our hobby is going to go, I want to be able to plan
in advance for those themes. Being disable, my money is short, so
anything to help me budget my income especially in regard to my
hobbies, is greatly appreciated. Now for both types of Tourneys, I'm
cool, I like them both.

Take care Scott.

Jack,

This does not help you personally very much, but what Chris, Patrick, and
myself have done is each gone with a certain flavor of army types and
ammassed lead in that area. Then when a theme pops up, one of us has the
lead for all three of us. I have 5000+ points of Arabs types, Patrick has
Celts, Chris Romans, and Mediaval (that is in 15mm, in 26mm we each have a
different are covered). For instance, at Border Wars this year, we will be
running lots of Bump lead! Of course some themes are just out of our lead
reach, and those we will sadly have to miss.

Hi Harlan,

Based on the 'Scandinavian' theme, what armies are you considering?
