Hello- I suspect this may be a dumb question, but; The Seleukid list
has a line called Persian Slinger and Archers, which are IC LI, half
and half sling and bow. The next line says "extra to upgrade Persian
Slingers to Reg". Does than mean you can upgrade a mixed unit of
slingers and archers, or do you have to have a reg unit of S only with
an irreg unit of B only? The latter seems to be the literal meaning,
but the former (upgrade amixed unit to reg) seems to make a bit more
sense. O Mighty Horsemen, what didja mean?
Also, just out of curiosity (and no criticism implied), whatever
happened to the Kyrtii slingers? They used to be in the lists and are
mentioned in the sources, but aren't in the list. dave lauerman

The literal meaning. If you want Reg Slingers, you'll need an Irr
unit of Archers. If you take the max # of Reg Slingers (6E), then you
need to have 6E of Irr Archers floating around.

In many instances in many lists, I lumped various misc groups into one
more or less generic line item. This is one of those cases. Since
the Kyrtii are mentioned as being from Media, that was "persian
enough" for me:) Thus, I lumped em into that category instead of
having various line items of the same troop type that came from or
represented the same geographic area of origin.

Hey Dave haven't you given up on thse 25mm Selucids yet?
I don't know if you remember me, but I use to game with you guys out
in Montereyin the late 80's I am trying to get back into playing
with my 25mm Indians. Although itis hard to find opponents out here
in Northern Iowa. Good luck with your Selucids.

Ah. Makes sense when you put it that way. I'll just run big Irreg
units of mixed slingers and archers and call'em Kyrtii, then. Bummer
about no mixed units of Regs, but life is like that. dave
