I have a question regarding restrictions on flaming arrows if any apply. I have
read the majority of the comments on flaming arrows and I understand that the
rule regarding their purchase will remain as written (personally I don't agree
w/ it, but such is life). However, I do have a question regarding their use.
I was thinking the other day about how difficult it would be to light arrows for
stationary men - not overly difficult if a little time consuming, but manageble
in a 15 minute turn. Same as lighting a cigarette while standing still. It got
me thinking how difficult it must be to light a cigarette while jogging,
nevermind from the back of a trotting horse. I was wondering if any thought had
gone into the difficulty of lighting flaming arrows while in skirmish on foot or
on horseback? It seems very difficult to me and I was wondering if such troops
should be unable to be in skirmish in order to light and fire a flaming arrow?
Could it be treated in some was as laying stakes or caltrops?
Just some heavy thinking...

Todd
I agree. The main reason why flaming missiles were used in primarily set-piece
fights is the difficulty inherent in lighting the missiles quickly and en masse
and the subsequent volley fire of them.
I am working on a modification to capture just what you have said below.
I think that would be the best mix of what we know about them and player desires
(which are certainly not homogenous...).
Good stuff.
