Well after much discussion between ourselves Richard and I have
finally decided on the battle for the 2006 Battle Day.

As promised it is a Crusades game and we have gone for the 1st
Crusade and the Battle of Dorylaeum, 1097AD, fought between the
crusaders and the Seljuk Turks.

The venue this year is likely to be the Harpenden Halls near St.
Albans where the AGM and Games day has been held for the past two
years. This offers us more space than the old venue, better lighting
and, we hope, food will be available on site as well as a bar.

Richard and I will now get to work on the Battle Pack which will
hopefully be available by the end of October. For those wishing to
get started you may like to know that we will be drawing on John
France's "Victory in the East" as a starting point. We would also
like to take this opportunity to recommend a long term supporter of
the SoA and the Battle Day, Outpost Wargames Services, as probably
the best source of historically accurate Seljuk figures in 15mm.

Any questions drop us a line at soabattleday@... .

Best wishes,

Richard and Nik
