First, let me introduce the new 30mm scale for Warrior!

Width and depth of elements: 2x 15mm basing.
40 paces = 2 inches.
Tables: 10'x6' for a '25mm-like' game and 12'x6' for a 15mm-like game.
I'll post a more comprehensive list of the widths, depths etc. later.

Have at it!

You meant to say the Warrior standard, of course. Smile But I did not either
count a vast majority nor did I solely use rules systems, but the PLAYERS of
those rules systems. The numbers of players, in the US at cons, is about 7:1
Standard to WAB basing. However, some do cross over, so that is not a pure
count. And at some cons, NO WAB is played, so what does that say?

<< It is the number of people playing each set
that matters towards establishing majorities.>>

Of course it is. See above. We'll come back from Cold Wars and give you some
exact numbers.

Please no lecture on cons being no indicator of who's playing what...of course
they are.

<<I understand Scott's point about your having an established constituency of
7th ed players, and not wanting to require wholesale rebasing of "the larger
scale".>>

That is not the only reason, but it is one.

<<Instead DBX copped out by making the element, not the figures, preeminent. >>

The element is preeminent in Warrior as well. If you want to play 3-mounted SHC
or MI, go ahead. Just count the correct number of figs for CPF and combat.

<< And I am sure some will point out how this means absolutely nothing, since
FHE is not WRG.>>

Amen, brother.
Jon

Now, that's what I call a game! I typically will play on an 8x6
table with 30mm, and it looks great. 10x6 is better yet, and 12x6
sounds best of all.

A bit OT, but Scott abandoned one "standard" basing scheme in Patriots and
Loyalists. I had all my AWI troops based to "1776" and "Complete Brigadier"
standards, of 1/2" for infantry. That worked well with Minifigs and
Hinchliffe, but not the big boys like Old Glory and Front Rank. So, when
PAL came out, I rebased all my SYW/FIW troops to his 2" for 3 foot standard,
and it looks much better. Much better game, too, I think. "1776" is so WRG
Old-school, but still enjoyable, and what we always did. Some day, when I
feel masochistic, I will tackle my AWI, but not anytime soon. Too much nude
lead, with more coming in this weekend.
