As many of us get ready to start painting up figures for armies from "Oriental
Warrior", I wanted to recommend a really good source for figures: Molniya
Miniatures, at http://members.aol.com/molniyafigs.

I recently placed a large order with them, and received the figures about a week
ago. These are beautifully sculpted figures, with enough texture to make a
mediocre painter like me look pretty good, and enough detail that a really
talented painter could produce something quite spectacular. The range of poses
is impressive. I got archers, for example, that have 5 different poses.
Spearmen and javelinmen appear to have comparable variety. And the castings are
very clean; out of the first 100 or so figures I've worked with, I've had two
that I had to trim slightly. Finally, Molniya seems to have some Oriental
ranges that aren't easy to find elsewhere. The response time and overall
customer service from these guys has been great as well.

The figures are a bit pricy, at least compared to Old Glory prices: about $1.70
per foot figure, about $3.75 per mounted figure, and $18 per chariot (with
crew). But I'd have to say that the quality of the sculpting and castings and
the availability of figures in some unusual lines makes it worth it, in my
opinion.

Looking forward to unleashing a brand new army on you all come Cold Wars!

Mark;

Thanks for the 'review' on the Molniya figures. I had a hard time
discerning whether they were exquisite, or a bit 'odd-looking'. I
agree they offer some figures not readily available elsewhere.
Also, I would like to reccomend Perry Miniatures Japanese range.

Superb range. Be sure and check out their gallery range. They do
some nifty stuff with the camera as well.
