				| It looks like someone sent some spam to the Warrior Group. For
those who don't already know this, NEVER select the "unsubscribe"
link offered in such e-mails. It is a ploy to get people to send
them an e-mail. Once a spammer knows that a particular e-mail
address is actually associated with a real person, they'll provide
it to other spammers, and you know the rest. . .

My guess is that most people on this group probobly know this, but
I'm sending this just in case.

All too true. In addition, I as a moderator don't have a lot of protective
abilities from this type of spam as the spammer is joining and leaving before I
can ban them. I have done the only thing I have the ability to do - notify
 yahoo.

				| If it's a problem, you could moderate new members, or at least require
 that they be approved.

Well, as it happens only rarely, I am not planning on doing that. I want new
players to be able to get to the Warrior resources here just as fast as they
 sign up.

But it might be something I am forced to if it gets worse.

				| Jon,

If I may offer a suggestion? If you change your settings to approve
new membership, this takes care of about 99% of the SPAM. I moderate 3
lists and changing the settings to approve new members took care of
the SPAM issue. I think there is software out there that allows these
SPAMers to join lists, post and then leave very easily. They usually
 target groups of 100+ members.
