DISCLAIMER : I'm not Jon Cleaves, nor am I Scott Holder.
I am also not really going to answer the question, just try to
interpret it given the rules section in question and the Swiss
infantry rules.
The Swiss infantry rulse as written in Feudal Warrior do not address
the issue of Swiss and 11.212. Updates on the Four Horsemen website
to Feudal Warrior do not modify this.
11.212 Winning and Losing:
A body that recives MORE hand-to-hand casualties than it inflicted
and at LEAST 1 CPF is destroyed if artillery, or if exhauseted. If
it is not:
- Foot fighting mounted troops recoil and become disordered, unless
the mounted break-off or rout.
- Other light troops must break-off.
- Other mounted or loose formation troops must either break-off or
recoil.
- Other pike-armed foot recoil if already disordered, otherwise
become disordered.
- Other troops must recoil.
Currently I believe we execute these steps in order from top to
bottom. Let's think about a LC unit. Technically if you were to look
at these steps all at once, then the LC unit is in conflict
between "Other light troops must break-off" and "Other mounted or
loose formation troops must either break-off or recoil".
So, we go from top to bottom and the LC unit must break-off.
Applying this to Swiss infantry, as "Other mounted or loose..." is
before "Other pike-armed...", then the Swiss either break-off or
recoil, not disorder.
However, this does not take into account any statements or rulings
previously made concerning Swiss infantry.
I am also not one of the rules authors and have no connection with
their insight.
