In honor of the Warrior and FHE cover art, how's this one look?
What do I do with the 25-ish points remaining? Or more if the LMI
get adjusted to a single 4E unit?
Is it even legal to mix and match all the brother/confrere
knights/sergeants and generals like this? The statement in the notes
seems very permissive to me.
I think the knights are about the nicest for the points I have
worked up in any army except HYWE, and the addition of IrrA's makes
this list even better in some ways. Good enough, and plentiful
enough, to go hog wild on the attack without a huge missile or
skirmish screen to hide behind?
Now, I may not use it often but one thing I like about these, and
HYWE, is on foot the front rank has SHI 2HCW but the back rank
actually fights as EHI JLS(,Sh). Much better, and cheaper, than all-
SHK all-2HCW units on foot. Of course, the points work best like
this staying mounted too although there the back rank HC is better
(so the subs, who will stay mounted no matter what, have them).
Are the LC, not good but..., adequate? My experience with LC
suggests in small units they might get a chance for an unprompted
charge (enemy disordered or behind enemy flank) and avoid the whole
all-D issue? Otherwise my LC rarely make charges anyway even when
they are high-class Regs. The big hurt I see with IrrD here is the
extra command points, and God help me if I need a counter roll!
I think with the SHK this would matchup well against other knights
or against missile foot.
But will the LMI be enough if one must absolutely take on a very
small number of elephants <cringe>? Just keep rolling wavers until
one doesn't shake?!? Of course the knights are built to be capable
of dismounting to help with this (or more likely be stuck doing it
since I really question the utility of all-IrrD non-missile troops).
At least I would hope the LMI could hold down some terrain if needed
although they will be unable to push at all.
Hey, you can't have it all in a single list.
But the best thing of all about them is that at 96 figures (72
mounted & 24 foot) and the very basic requirements of Teut colors
for surcoats and trappings they are about the easiest army to paint
I can think of!

Well I'm no expert, but I did run this list in TOG for about 2
weeks :)

All looks fine to me if you plan on charging everything on bound 2.
SHK is SHK. If these are the mimimums, then OK. My biggest issue
here is this list is a one trick pony, so no one will be fooled to
your intent. You are going to move forward with the SHK and charge.
Your support troops will not hold off any determined flank push, so
you will be forced to reenforce them or just bowl straight down the
middle and hope to dice luck.

Hey at least they get a bow now! These aren't bad, but you may want
to try runing the IrgA SHK directly behind them and charging through
them at whatever is charging the LC. -1 for disorder means nothing
here. You will not be able to manuver well, so perhaps the best
place for these is on a single flank working in tandum, or just
surviving 120 paces away from both flanks as your SHK ram down the
middle of the field.

My Crusader HK will ride these guys down like children under the
wheels of a semi. If these guys get anywhere near a bow armed LI
unit they will be shaken after two or three shots. They are too
small for such poor morale. Unlike RgB romans, these guys are 6
figures who are uneasy just being alive; I could probably shoot one
shaken with a 2E LC B unit. Nikephorian Byzantines would walk up
with 2E LC B or 4E LI S/sh B and shoot them tired while they just
stand there.
Seriuosly consider 1 or 2 units of 1x8E or 2x4E. Even then avoid
enemy contact.
Consider realinging the list to function around elephants and
chariots. Essentially you are going to war with 8 units of SHK, as
the rest of the army is give away points. Bowling kniggits rarely
works, and the more LI/LC and enemy has the less likely the SHK will
hit anything point worthy before becoming tired and disordered.
I do not know your skill level. I'm just trying to consider how I
would approach running and contesting this army in an open
touranment. I would much rather fight against it honestly than with
it. Consider some of the options on the early or middle list options
rather than the later early list. The SHK are nice but at a cost,
and your supporting cast options are already lean by my way of
playing. I would rather have HK and EHK with:
2x6E IrgD LMI B/2HCW/sh B to work between the EHK and LC to deflect
shooting for 79 points each
1x4E IrgD LMI J/sh (required)to hide in the woods
2x6E IrgD LC J/B/sh to protect the flanks unless middle list then drop
2x2E IrgC HC/MC L/sh to support the LC flanks unless Lithuanian ally,
then drop
early options of MI CB/Pa are marginal, but Danish settlers might be
interesting for terrain troops or follow on behind the EHK. The
Polish ally give more flexability than any list without and some LI.
Middle options of Reg close order and a ton of IrgB Lithuanian ally
troops is IMO the best possible list here. Consider running your
EHK/HK or HK/HC kniggits behind a solid screen of IrgB LC J/B/sh and
drop the Prussian crap LC completely. 4E IrgB LC J/B/sh or L/J/sh @
93 points x 6 units = 558 points. Ally costs 88 points. Total 646
points of ally troops leaving 954 for kniggits. Buy mimimun Reg
EHK/HC with subs, and all crusader IrrgA/B. Buy the POS IrgD
Prussian foot unit as 4E, then any left over points buy some HC
L/sh. Now run the LC screen forward with some forced marched
(perhaps a reason for Prussian LC) and bring the K up to a point you
want to run over and let fly with the IrgA followed by the reg EHK
using the HC to keep flanks secure and act as follow ons. LMI hide.
Again, these are my opinions.
