Remember that Derek didn't run away from the field last year. His performance
mirrored the other top 4 finishers and obviously Dave Stier's Sicilian
Hohenstaufen were able to fight this supposed "exploitative" list to a 3-3
standstill, which is exactly one would expect from those caliber players playing
each other. In fact, going into the 4th round, the NICT was Ted Furey's to win.
All he needed to do was beat Rob Turnball 4-x. Assume he beat him 4-3 and all
the other scores came out the same, we would have had four people with the same
base score (18 points), then Ted would have easily won and we wouldn't be having
this conversation since Ted ran HYWE:)SmileSmile Oh wait, we would be having part of
the conversation about missile troops and skirmishing English longbowmen:)Smile:)
