Why doesn't anyone love their D morale troops? Martin, the Hun list
was not good before because it did not have enough strike cavalry and the
LC were too expensive. Both have been rectified in Imperial Warrior. You
can have up to 12 stands of Irr B HC L,B,Sh in addition to the CinC and 3
SGs. The SGs can be HC or LC. The LC (18-64 stands) start as Irr C LC B.
Any can be given JLS or JLS, Sh (thus you can not have a shield unless you
also have a JLS). Any can be downgraded to D morale. 0-5 stands of LC
can be upgraded to B morale as bodguards to a SG.
Your subject foot come in a couple of flavors. The generic
"Subject Tribes" are Irr D MI/LMI JLS, Sh. Your Franks are Irr D MI
HTW,Sh, up to half of which can be C morale and you get D morale
Burgundian/Thuringian MI JLS, Sh. You can have up to 6 stands of
Hunnic archers (Irr D LI B) any of which can be given shield and any of
which can be upgraded to C morale. Finally, you can have 2 stands of
light bolt shooters and 2 stands of stone throwers (which start with 3
crew and you can upgrade to 4 crew!)
Let me see here, without taking a great deal of effort, how does this
sound? A CinC and HC SG (each of which are 2 elements of Irr B HC
L, B, Sh); a LC SG (2 elements of Irr B LC JLS, B, Sh) 5 units of 2
elements of Irr B HC L, B, Sh; 7 units of LC (one element of Irr C, 5
elements Irr D) LC B; 2 units of 4 elements Irr D LMI JLS, Sh; and one
unit of 6 elements of Irr C LI B, Sh. 18 units total, 149 scouting points
total. Did I mention that the Hun LC sight 1.5 ranks if charging,
countercharging or pursuing? <<Bwah-ha-ha!>> Nope, nothing to love with
that list...
You can also get Gepid and Ostrogothic allies if you feel that you
need more lance armed strike cavalry.
