Those dates might be doable, Scott.

I would not want to go down there for just one game so we are talking tourney,
yes?

If its odd, I could 'sit out' and 'umpire'.

The dates are 22-23 March. It's being held at the Ramada Inn/Convention
Center in Oklahoma City OK.

If we get enough people, I'm pretty sure I can make it. If we have an
odd number of players, I do not want to sit out (I usually do this when
umping) and don't expect anybody else to sit out either. I have no
problems playing as a two-player team in order to avoid this. In fact,
that's what we did at Fall In and it worked out nicely--everybody got to
play.

Jon: if we both go, do you wanna play as a team as a fall-back to any
odd number issues? I don't care what army we play if that's the case.
Since I'll be driving, I don't mind bringing down a number of armies in
both scales so that we can manage for any eventuality. That works
better with 1600 point armies but 1350 would work as well. Hell, 1200
could work as well but half the time, I only have one command at 1200
points.

I'm talking tourney. If we get 8-9 people, that's a great one day
event.

And don't feel that you hafta sit out. Having 7 singles competitors and
one doubles "team" playing as if they are "one" shouldn't be a problem,
particularly if it's me paired with somebody. I'm looking at this event
to mainly derust myself in order to effectively ump at Cold Wars.

Jon or Scott,
Do you want to set up Tourney format. That will dictate to some if they
want to go or not. Some have 15mm only lead, some have 25mm only lead.
Other format issues I'd like to know include:
1. Army size (1600pts?)
2. Lists usable
3. Point format
4. Rules included or excluded (ie: some tourney's don't mess with weather)
5. Time limits
6. 1day or Sunday included (I probably wouldn't play a Sunday Tourney game)

Currently I have an email out to the group saying friendly gaming and both
15mm and 25mm will be welcome. I will not change that if there will be
enough for a both tourney and friendly games. But I will not ask those with
only 15mm armies to show up to a 25mm tourney when there is a good
possibility that no other partners are available.

I will work on getting exact dates from the coordinator.

15mm is certainly the lowest common denominator. I only brought up 25mm
because obviously it's a better scale:)SmileSmile and Warrior has a much
larger 25mm player base than any other rules set out there except WAB.
If 15mm would bring in the people needed to make this a worthwhile one
day, 3 round tourney, I'm all for 15mm. At this point, I think we're
just trying to gauge interest and then proceed, at least in terms of
scale.

1. Army size (1600pts?)

>We either go with 1350 or the more "standard" 1600.

2. Lists usable

>Biblical Warrior, any *other* new/old WRG lists or NASAMW revisions not
covered by Biblical Warrior (and although I don't have an exact listing
of that out yet, it's pretty obvious; moreover, so few people have
armies in that period they want to play in an "open" format, I'm not
concerned.

3. Point format

>I'd say one version.

4. Rules included or excluded (ie: some tourney's don't mess with
weather)

>I mess with weather:)SmileSmile
5. Time limits

>4 hour rounds is standard.

6. 1day or Sunday included (I probably wouldn't play a Sunday Tourney
game)

>3 rounds, Sat only.

Neither am I. I'm more inclined to "make" the time to do this if I know
prior to the event that we'll have enough people to play.

>>> JonCleaves@... 2/11/02 9:05:00 AM >>>
I will defer to Scott. I am not 100% sure I can make it yet.

Jon and Scott,
I do hope you both make it. I would like to meet you guys and the other two
Ho's if possible.

Several of us here in DFW land prefer 25's. If we go with 1350pts we can
muster up multiple armies, we will try to get maximum attendance. I think
the DFW number of people that can attend sits at 3 confirmed + 3 definite
maybes + 2 not-so-definite maybes.

How about those KC attendents? San Antonio??? (Dave, I know you're lurking
out there)

I still plan to bring 15 and 25mm lead.

Harlan,

Aside from the point that you should be painting just such an army with your
free time and because you are paying no rent, nor any utilties- so you have
the spare change............Despite all of that we will happily supply you
with lead.;

Chris

Do not forget, that some of the DFW (actually, former DFW, now Ft Hood)
crew do not have 25mms.
