Sigh.
Just a note that FHE sanctions all Warrior national championships and that
for 2005 the US Nationals is the NASAMW Invitational.
At the moment, I cannot make anyone not use that name. If I could I would,
and when we can, we will.
I would consider it a major courtesy to us if you didn't..
I am wondering if we will ever get a competition here in the uk, everyone
else seems to be having them. Unless someone else comes forward soon jon i feel
i have to do something.
We have discussed this subject on this forum before but here goes again. It
is a bit chicken and egg. If i run a tourney and it does not have status of
being UK championship i will get fewer entries. On the other hand nobody can
guarantee enough entries for your qualification rules.
If FHE put some adds out about said tourney maybe we would get the entries.
Either way Warrior would get some uk publicity which it sorely needs.
There are fewer cons in the UK than there were and none that i know of that
intend doing anything with Warrior. I could run the tourney at the
Whitehaven(of john paul jones fame) Maritime festival in the summer. No it is
not a con
but does have 100,000+ visitors.
There are also 5 regular players within a few miles and several more would
become regular if they knew that next year there was going to be a UK title at
stake.
If i were to do this i need to plan well ahead. So please think about it or
get someone else to run one at a con in the UK. please.

Mark, I have said before that you can have the UK Nationals this year if you
want them. I'd be happy if you could even say that you had 8 'potential' names
just to get it off the ground.

If you were looking to have a Warrior comp at an existing UK wargame
event you could probably do worse than talk to the BHGS about having
a Warrior section at one of their major events such as the BHGS
Challenge, Roll Call or Britcon. Although the largest section of
players at the BHGS events tend to be DBM they are quite willing to
have others played - for example Armati is a regular at Roll Call.
Contact details can be got from their web site at www.bhgs.co.uk

Well you just about hit it on the head. I want someone to run a competition
at a con, but no one seems to be coming forward on this list. I cannot run
one other than locally and there are no cons locally.
If it is run at a con then it will mean several/most of my group would
probably not attend due to travel time and work constraints. I guess i would
hope
to get three players to a con in the north of England. We used to get four to
the worlds at Derby.
So, i am just fishing here. Is there any on this list that would play in a
tourney on the west coast of Cumbria in the summer if the dates suited? Or is
anyone going to organise a tourney at a con that we can attend.
thanks

Ok Nik thanks. I have looked over the website and not even found a link to
Warrior or 7th even although 6th still has a link and tournaments. I have asked
if they could put a link up for Warrior and also commented that i am looking
forward to a Warrior tournament in the UK. I have invited further comment.

If there would be a warrior competition run in the UK I would be
willing to come over from Germany. Provided I can get time off work.
I would be even willing to come over just for a game.
Only hope the event will be advertised on this forum.

The Whitehaven Maritime Festival, takes place on 25-26 June 2005 - it is
timed to coincide with the International Year of the Sea and Nelson's death at
the Battle of Trafalgar 200 years ago. The festival is the PREMIER EVENT in
the North of England. Over 200,000 people from as far afield as Norway,
Canada, Finland and America were thrilled with the FREE festival in 2003 - in
2005
approximately 250,000 people are expected to attend the two-day event.
