Jon

please clarify the following

6.45 third para reads "Skirmish formations is represented...etc. It
can be formed only if the unit has enemy in its own shooting range
or if enemy approaching second could move to that range"

Question: Since it reads UNIT and not ELEMENTS must every ELEMENT in
the UNIT be in shooting range?

...for example a 2x2 UNIT with front rank SLING, second rank BOW is
160 paces from the enemy. The UNIT is capable of shooting with the
BOW ELEMENTS, but not every element in the UNIT is not able to shoot
as the SLING ELEMENTS are out of range.

Dennis,

Please consider this as a non official FHE opinion. Jon generally doesn't
want players to answer these type of questions but I noticed that your question
went unanswered and will give you my opinion. Yes you can go into skirmish even
if the whole unit is not able to get all elements firing at the target. Although
I believe my answer to be correct it is my opinion and not law as this comes
from the will of Landrew, I mean JC (old star trek fans will understand).

Hi, does anyone have any thoughts on the following?>>

Yes, in fact...lol

Note that when i do not answer a question on the same day it is because I do not
have the time or resources to reflect on that question while at work. Typically
I can type two things at once very quickly and work on whatever I am *supposed*
to be doing simultaneously. As soon as a question pops up that requires
thought, i have to save it until I have the time to think about it.

<<6.45 third para reads "Skirmish formations is represented...etc. It

Every element of s skirmishing unit must have a missile weapon and at least one
element with each missile weapon type must be in its own range or could be if
the other guy has a unit that could approach into that range after your
approaches.

<<...for example a 2x2 UNIT with front rank SLING, second rank BOW is

If that unit approached second, it could NOT enter skirmish.

Jon
