I have been reading the Ayyubid posts above with interest as I am in
the process of compiling some ideas for a good army to match against
the Crusader army I am building.
I was pretty much commtiied to Ayyubid (with a few mercenary spears
and swords thrown in to balance it out). Not so sure now? I don't
want a pure cavalry opponent and I do want a force with plenty of
variety (and plenty of guys wearing black, mail, helms with black
turbans wrapped around). Any ideas? Most of the Muslim armies I
have contemplated seem to be (obviously) heavily cavalry orientated.
If I'm pushed I'll just have to have a Crusader scrap - Templars v
Hospitallers :-)
