 |

Hello,
Could you please help with the following queries;
1) If a unit has to take simultaneous waver tests (for seeing a
General's unit rout) does failure of the first test rolled for mean
the unit is shaken for the next roll?
2) Can a regular foot unit (Roman LHI Auxillia) charged by impetuous
irregular foot respond with a countercharge?
3) If an impetuous expendable element (scythed chariot) receives
5FP's in a breakthrough move that becomes a converted charge how is
it factored in the following bounds HtH? (still impetuous or tired).
4)In HtH does an exhausted unit also count the -1 for being tired?
Also, in the revised rule set, could the relevant page numbers be
added to the contents pages and the Fatigue Point costs be added to
the quick reminder sheet if possible.
thanks, Raphael

Jon,
Thank you for the very quick response, it really is very helpful.
FHE's 'customer commitment' certainly can't be faulted and does make
playing the game even more enjoyable.
One final question, what does TOG and MOOG mean? They appear in
several postings and aren't explained.

Good question...lol
'TOG' stands for 'that other game'. Its a humorous reference to WRG 7th Edition
Ancients Rules, the game rules that provided the original engine to the Warrior
system. Many of our customers were players of 7th Edition.
'Moog' is slang for almughavar, a type of medieval Spanish infantry armed with
both a heavy throwing spear and a lighter spear/javelin. 'Moog' is easier to
say...

I would like to cast a vote for this to be nominated as best post in some
time. It provided a few seconds of much needed pleasure. Let us recall
that one of our big priorities is to popularize the hobby and the sport.
As with every other endeavor in which I've been involved, even the best of
us can become trapped in our own jargon filled thoughtworld. Thanks,
writer. Nice to be jolted out of it with a fresh perspective.

Pretty simple. I'm Greek and I only play armies with Greeks in them, no
matter what kind of competitive disadvantage that puts me in game-wise.

Afternoon Bill ...
Paleologian (SP) is one of the better armies yet published in 15mm if
you ask me ... and I think it's mostly Greeks ... right?

You are right on both counts. Unfortunately I am histoically more
enamoured with the Komnenii, particularly from 1081 to about 1120. They're
not as good as Paleologan, but they'll do. I personally think that
Komnenan should be better than Paleologan, but it isn't in Warrior. But
you're right, anyway, I just play what I like and to hell with the
consequences!! See you.

That's probably because you're a better general than me.

Why do you like the Komnenan better Jon ... I'm very curious.
I played the old WRG 6th Comnenan list exclusively for almost five
years, back when the cavalry only fought one rank, and Varangians
were even more worthless ... and for some reason I loved that army.
I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

I like the peltastoi - very cool troops - would probably take them all. I like
the lights in this list, and in this list would actually take some. I like that
I can get what I need without an ally.

Does anyone remember the old peltastoi armed with the LTS, JLS, Sh from the old
NIKE Byz list? Whatever became of those guys. I noticed that our local hobby
store had a bag of them for sell, were they really not a troop type of any
effective number as the Trapezetoi are considered to be by the FHE list
historians?
