This interesting subject has been raised on another thread.

I am interested to know how different groups deal with the "problem" of being
on particular orders and either telling your opponent or not telling your
opponent what orders you are on.

I have tried a few different methods from 1)sealing in an envelope until the
end, or 2)the complete opposite telling my opponent what orders i am on at the
start and vice versa.

The method i use in the main is 3)counting my opponents moves and telling him
for example he has not advanced enough to be on attack. This seems rude, but
i do not know how else to go about making sure my opponent carries out his
orders.

In the thread on knights and wait orders, there is no sure way of knowing the
guy is on wait in the example, unless of course method 2) is in common use.

Do players commonly declare what orders they are on?

There is a place on the Warrior record sheet (which also tracks fatigue,
first available charges, terrain selections, prompt minutes, etc) for orders to
be
written down. In a competition setting, this is the accepted practice.

There is nothing wrong with the above, esp. in a comp setting. We are all
human and honest mistakes are made and my opponent checking me out orders-wise
and vice versa is perfectly ok.

Though your below item may seem a bit rude, I find this suitable because it
sucks worse if you put your opponent on Wait or Hold orders because he
didn't move enough to be in Attack. Then a bound or two later he launches
free charges out the whaazoo. You say, "hey on bound 1 you didn't move
enough bodies to qualify for Attack orders - what gives?" Then it just goes
downhill from there.
