Warrior Update, 25 May 2003

Yeah, it's a holiday weekend. But Theresa is away caring for her brother, so
I have time on my hands….Here's an update of all FHE/Warrior happenings:

1. Clarifications. I am about done with the most recent clarification
update. It will be posted to the group and our website this week. I have tried
to
be as thorough as possible, so that this will carry us all through the summer
Warrior event season. I noted last year that many players did not have a
copy of the clarifications with them while playing Warrior. The Warrior rules
will *always* consist of the rulebook and the rules clarification sheets. Help
your e-challenged friends become aware of and get their own copy of the
clarifications when they get updated online. One of the reasons I have been
working
so hard on the clarifications is the impending publication of Feudal Warrior.
It contains the Hussites and I wanted to be sure we had the fighting
transport rules all tightened up when they came out. I also wanted to help the
players with a definition of 'in terrain' since that is always a problem given
the
number of different terrain representations out there. Be SURE to look at my
fix to 4.52 - please!

2. Campaign Warrior. Our playtest of this continues to go extremely well
and there just aren't any major rules glitches at all stopping us. We have,
however, decided to include rules for using CamWar with DBM and WAB to increase
its utility to the ancients audience. We have had to recruit experts in each
game to make sure we are giving those groups what they need to run campaigns.
Also, the four included campaigns take some work. It still looks like,
though, that this will be our first new rules product and we plan to up the
production standards with this item.

3. Fifth Horsemen. We have six fifth horsemen out there now, and I am
looking forward to working with them to support Warrior play in their
communities.
The program details are in the files section of the group for those who might
be interested.

4. Feudal Warrior. It is 99% done and looks great. I am a member of FHE
and I'm excited about playing these lists. It will be available at Historicon.
Then it's off to Imperial, and boy isn't that going to be some work…..

5. Fantasy Warrior. I'm working on playtest draft 2.1, which will clean up
some things we have found, package up all the special abilities into one clear
set, add the dark elf, lizardman and demon draft lists, try some new magic
rules and …flyers…yikes. Should be done in a couple weeks or so.

6. Warrior Clinic #3. This one on baggage camps will not be in the next
spearpoint, I'm afraid, as I just haven't had the time. But I am almost done
and
will be sure to get it into the next one and post it online.

Anything else we can do for you guys? Wink
Jon

Nah. Some guy in Texas would want them cleaned with an esoteric solvent only
used by a rare tribe of sub-saharans.

While we do regularly hire Yankees to do our 'winders', Jon already seems to
have a job, so I will get someone else!

P.S. We provide the costic solution, so don't worry about bringing your own.
