Hi All
Just a post to let you know about the latest Australian Competition. It was held in the Blue Mountains New South Wales and was a 15mm 1500 point comp held over 5 rounds on 3 days.
The results are as follows

Overall it was a great weekend with all players playing in a friendly and competitive manner. It was good to see so many people travelling to the cold climes of Katoomba.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to play but was able to pop in on the Sunday of the long weekend to watch for a while.
For non-Australian gamers - the tournament had pre-set terrain, as do most tournaments here. The tables were I think 6 by 4 and normal deployment was used. A single 1500 point list was used.
The mix of armies was very good and there appeared to be a real emphasis on close order foot throughout the tournament, for instance I believe Darren Holmes' Chinese had approximately 180 close order foot of one kind or another.
Another feature of the tournament was use of temporary fortifications. This has not been a big feature of play in Australia generally, but at least two armies in this tournament had ditches or similar.
