A 2 element unit of HC looses in HTH against a HI unit and chooses to break off. There is a gap of 140 paces between 2 LC units on each side of the HC. It is a legal interpenatration for the HC to break off through either LC unit but can the HC choose to drop back an element and move the HC through the gap or is it forced to penetrate and disorder the LC unit?

The HC may choose to drop back.

Jon,

Thanks for the quick answers on my 4 questions so quickly. It is good to know I was right on at least one question.
