Greetings Gentlemen,

The KC Illuminati Warrior group will be hosting a 15mm Warrior tournament at Spring recruits in Lee's Summit, MO on April 1. This will be a 1,200 point tournament. Experimental rules in use will be posted a bit later. Additional items of note are the table size will be 4x4 using 2 terrain pieces each. Weather will be used as in Lancaster. I intend to have painted units for prizes which will include, Best Sportsman, First Place, Next to Last Place, and a book on how to achieve victory for the military disaster winner (last place). More information to come! Cool

I am sorry Kelly that many of us will be in (or in my case running) the FoW event at SR, which has been scheduled since October. I hope you have a great tourney.

Jon,

That was my main concern, but so far I have confirmed. . .
Brian Bell
Mirvin Lottering
Dave Huber
Mike Lewis
Jack Young
Jim (who's Jack's buddy from Spgfd)
Will Muckle
And I will only play if there is an odd number.

The cool thing about this is that it's an event that will be mostly people who are fairly new to the rules system and Mike and I will likely play 3rd or 4th tier armies since we're already qualified for the NICT. To be honest, I never even considered putting this on considering the fact that Spring Manuevers is a FOW event, But there seems to be interest in Warrior which makes my heart glad. Who knows, I am almost finished with my 25mm Romans and may have enough left over to paint up a unit for one of the prizes. . . We need to get some of these guys started in the 25mm (Man's Scale) direction!

Kelly

Special Rules to come!

Hey, if you get eight guys without the seven of us, that's good work.

Need some prize support?

Would rulebooks and/or certain list books make sense?

Cool! Very Happy That would be perfect considering that these are our newer players. Thanks for your kind offer and thanks for once again being there for Warrior players. Smile

1. We will be playing on 4x4 tables.

a. Rear zone will be 12 inches instead of the normal 6 inches.
b. Two pieces of terrain may be chosen by each player.
c. Rounds will be 3 hours.

2. Tournament Special Rules.

a. All elements of Regular "A" troops will add (+1) in all cases of
hand to hand combat.
b. EHC may skirmish as long as it meets the requirements of 6.45 in
the Warrior rules.
C. off table flank marches may choose their point of entry
regardless of which number comes up on a dice roll of 5 or 6 on the
enemy flank or rear zone.

3. The tournament itself is free. But folks still have to pony up the
3.00 cover charge for the con.

4.Prizes will be given for the following...
1st Place (Painted figures and possibly Warrior Products)
Next to last place (painted figures and a Warrior Product)
Military Misfortune (of 10th cav fame)(book on How Great Generals Win)
Player who drove the furthest (painted figures possibly Warrior
products)
Best Sportsman (to be voted on by the players)(Warrior
Products/painted figs)
best painted--at least 90% of the army must have been painted by the
player. Prize = bag of unpainted lead.

5. The tournament will start around 9:00 AM and we will be doing three 3 hour rounds although I doubt they will go that long considering how close the armies will be allowed to start out with the rear zone being extended.

If anyone has any further questions, please contact me!

Hey folks!

How many people would need to play for this tourney to include a qualification slot for the NICT?

Also, the Recruits event info says 28mm and doesn't mention points.

What I understand is that its a 1200 pt Mini in 15mm on 4X4 w/2 terrain and the experimental rules listed on the Spring Recruits site.

Kelly - please confirm...

Thanks! Very Happy

Hello!

How many people for this one to include a qualification slot for NICT?

Also, Recruits event site says 28mm and doesn't mention points.

What I hear is 1200 pt Mini in 15mm on 4X4. Which is correct? May want to update Recruits.

Thanks!

Jon, the NICT qualifies one person per every 6 participants.

What Jon says is correct but with a couple of caveats.

If you have 6 players and just six players in the event, only the winner qualifies. If the winner is already qualified, the second place player does NOT qualify. Now, if you have 10 players and the winner is qualified but the second place player has not, then the second place player DOES qualify. This type of approach is done to prevent the sixth place player in a 6 player tournament (or 10th place in a 10 player tourney) from qualifying just because players who place 1-5 are already qualified.

Please keep in mind that the tourney organizer doesn't offer you the invite, I, as NASAMW Warrior Ump, do. So, when running a tourney, simply run the tourney, post the results here, send a seperate email to me with the results and I'll take care of the rest.

Tourney organizers should NOT tell players "oh, you're now qualified for the NICT" since if they technically are not, I'm the one breaking the bad news to them.

And I then usually follow up with a grumpy email to the tourney organizer/ump. Shocked

With all that in mind, everybody have a good time at the tourney!

scott

What Scott said is correct with a couple of caveats. Smile

We *cannot* be in the business of players expecting to play in a qualifier and then finding out it did no one any good because of some math issue.

Pretty much the *only* thing NASAMW is currently doing to recruit players is to offer qualifications to the NICT in local tourneys. Not being able to say if an event is a qualifier in advance would be death to one of the only things we need the organization for.

That said, this event is designed to qualify someone, if there is some math issue once it is over, I will personally fight with Scott about it. Which I do not anticipate as I do not believe anyone already qualified is playing unless kelly chooses to play to make an odd number even.
